OccamsRazor Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Time to come together. Everyone need to being on the same page. Huge game waiting. Flyers need to bring the Rangers back down to earth. They are 9-1-0 in their last 10. Having won 5 in a row. Flyers are rested Rangers are coming off a win vs Montreal. Flyers have a one point lead over the NYI. It would be nice to get the win in regulation. I guess Hart gets the home start and Elliott gets the road game vs them on Sunday at noon. 3 Quote
Howie58 Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 We are favorites on home ice, but this is against a very hot Rangers club: https://sportschatplace.com/nhl-picks/2020/02/28/philadelphia-flyers-vs-new-york-rangers-2/28/20-nhl-pick-odds-and-prediction Find 'em, Chase 'em, Sink'em! 2 Quote

brelic Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Time to piss all over their playoff dreams. Need 3 of 4 points. 5-3 Flyers. G, Sanheim, Coots (2), and NAK. 1 1 Quote
Digityman Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Two hottest teams in the eastern conference. Will be a good test. Thankfully catching them on the tail-end of a back to back. No reason the Flyers shouldn't jump on them in the first. There isn't an excuse to come out flat (again). 2 Quote

I like the lines, but I'd start with Grant, Thompson and Pitlick/Laughton and hit everything that moves for the first minute. Old timey hockey 1 Quote
OccamsRazor Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 I think the Flyers will face Lundqvist though Georgiev played last night. Surely they won't play him in back to back games. Right?? Regardless it will be nice to come out and get the lead. They need to be brought back down to earth and end their playoff hopes. Flyers need to be up for the task. No starting slow. Quote
CoachX Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Is it just me, or has the 1st period been our Achilles this season? Quote
mkscrewy Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 It’s your imagination. The slow starts have been a problem for the last 10 years. 1 1 1 Quote

Old timey hockey still not liking Laughton on the 2nd line. He's never been a top 6 player, and hasn't earned it. I still think id put (cough-ccough) NAK there 1 Quote

He's never been a top 6 player, Not sure I agree. The whole "top 6" / "bottom 6" thing is a bit antiquated thinking in my opinion. I like him moved around at times. He's one of a few players that could legitimately take a shift on any line and be good. I think he has sneaky offense for one thing, and he's not a liability. Plus, he has a grit that other lines often lack and need. It messes with the matchups when you see him out there with G or Coots or whatever. So, I like moving him and NAK around like that. Anyway, let's focus on Scott's TOI. His career average is 12:34. This season he's a full 2 min more at 14:34. I'd be perfectly happy if by this time next year he's at 16:34. More Scott Laugton on the ice is good in my opinion. He's my kind of player and should be your kind of player! /end 4 1 Quote

CoachX Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Excellent point. I do like his gritty side....I'd like to see it ramped up, especially against these butt nuggets Quote
OccamsRazor Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 Laughton has 5 points (3 goals) the last 6 games I like his game. He Hayes and TK have been hell to play against lately. Let's get Giroux Coots and Jake back to the dominance they had a few years back and this could be a deadly team to have to play. 2 Quote
CoachX Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 wasnt traded (just like I predicted all off season), so what's his deal? is he close to healthy and when does he return? Quote

He's been a healthy scratch so I'm assuming his knee is fine and he could play. I like the option of being able to insert him in the lineup. He has a unique set of skills and can be a challenge for other teams to deal with. He can also suck dogsh!t, of course, so there's that. 2 Quote

I still think id put (cough-ccough) NAK there I think he's been pretty great with TK and Hayes. Small sample size, however the Sharks had no answer for them. It speaks well of him that he's able to slide up and down the line up . I don't know if I think he's the "answer" on the second line, but he won't hurt anything there either. I agree with @Podein25 the more he's on the ice the less chances for the other guys and he plays with an edge, definitely think you would like that. 1 Quote
