  1. The only one I disagree with the majority on is Scott Laughton. He's 28, under a controlled contract, and is only making $3M/yr against a constricted cap. And he plays multiple positions. He is at best average but he provides some leadership and shows up to every game. He's worth more on a rebuilding Flyers team than they could possibly get in a trade. He's exactly the type you want in a legitimate rebuild. No, he's not in any way "the future," but he's of some value as a bridge. The only way this changes to me is if at a trade deadline someone wants to wildly overpay for this type of depth player. I won't be broken-hearted if he's moved and would probably forget him 20 minutes later, but he's the type that you keep. I just don't believe that the likely 4th or 5th round pick in return gets you better value for the transitional period of the rebuild.
  2. Money and the immortal souls of offsprings. Doesn't matter. Get it done.
  3. Does his complete lack of ability to play the position fit a hockey team? Factor: 10
  4. I called this for Devils in 7 but my reason for almost going for the Rangers was Vanecek, who was horrible down the stretch. So glad they pulled him and went with Schmid or the Devils season was over.
  5. I don't know which I'm more angry at: Trouba and the hit or the idiot on Sportsnet and his commentary saying it was a good hit.
  6. Yeah. I kind of agreed with the analysis but graded it a C.
  7. How long until he's in the Flyers' front office? To soon for President of Hockey Operations?
  8. Completely agree. Good post. Every single word.
  9. C'mon, I'm picking fourth. You know I'm good for trading you a starter for a 1978 Field & Stream magazine.
  10. He was born in Sewell, NJ, and is a lifelong Flyers fan. Grew up watching them as a kid.
  11. So, here's a question: pretend for a second that someone not the Flyers wins the lottery, pushing Philly to 8th pick. Are you still drafting BPA there or are you trading back for a mid-round first and hoping to pick up a second? All of the forwards in the 6-9 range are kind of a interchangeable, so maybe you just draft anyway. But looking for thoughts.
  12. This goes 7, I would think. I picked the Devil's because of home ice. The playoff set up makes perfect sense to me, but I agree with @mojo1917that this feels like a matchup that would have been even better in later rounds.
  13. Then Gaudreau ultimately got a coach in Columbus and a GM in Philly fired.
  14. It's not even like they could make the argument someone had to sit so they could take a look at a kid. I mean, Ginning played a game, but otherwise it was the stumps. This had to be completely about DeAhole. I wonder who he donkey punched in the locker room.
  15. If Little Joe does hit 500, then maybe we have to talk, but I don't like the longevity award for the HoF. I would take him on my team in a heartbeat and always would have, but he was never the best in any given year. He's been an all-star 5 of 17 years, but I don't think I remember him winning any indivdual awards -- I know he hasn't won a Cup, but I don't like that as a determining factor. 500 is 500, though. I know the longevity thing I said, but at his current 449, that's averaging 26 goals/yr. over 17 years. That's not something to sneeze at. I still don't think I vote him in if I had a vote. They weren't dumb enough to give me a vote, though.
  16. Yeah, I wouldn't put money on Winnipeg or anything. Just my sleeper pick I'm cheering for.
  17. Yeah, this is definitely the more legitimate of my Edmonton concerns -- if I cared about Edmonton--or the playoffs at this point. I'm really only watching like a starving person standing in the rain watching a happy couple through a window while they chomp on 3 michelin food
  18. LOL! As a group. Not the fantastic person who happens to be a Bruins fan here on our board. If you were a Capitals fan, that would be a dealbreaker. Actually, I don't have much problem with Bruins fans; it's largely their PxP announcers and some players. But this largely goes back to the 74 Cup run and our idiot GM trading Propp and Poulin to Boston (which caused me to cheer for the Bruins briefly).
  19. It's the new street spelling for what originally was "Wrist and Jello."
  20. Keep it in the closet. People will start wanting you tested.
  21. The Bruins should win the East, Jersey could actually be a dark horse. I don't like the Leafs chances. Panthers are fodder over a 7-game series; they just can't bring it every night. And something is wrong in Tampa. I'm ashamed as a Flyers' fan to say it, but I'm cheering for the Rangers or the Devils. I just disllike the Bruins, their players, their fans, and (particularly) their announcers more than the NY Metro teams. Out west: The Jets will win their first round bout with Vegas. It's possibly the worst first round draw possible for Vegas. It'll come down to the Avalanche or the Wild. I just like what the Wild have put together so thats who I'm cheering for. Dallas could be a dark horse. I don't like Edmonton for playoff hockey and don't like their goaltending. And LA isn't quite ready yet.
  22. Are you saying Risto and Deslauriers doesn't get it done? What if we through in Seeler?
