hf101
Last summer we guessed to which teams would sign a group of Free Agents, and found it to be rather tough. So let us try this again by choosing the destinations for a list of possible players to be traded by the trade deadline. No prizes unfortunately will be awarded to the winner other than bragging rights for the most correct set of answers. Here is the list of possible players to be traded. Please guess destinations in bold. 1. Sabres trade Ryan Miller to2. NY Islanders trade Thomas Vanek to3. Sabres trade Matt Moulson to4. Oilers trade Ales Hemsky to5. Hurricanes trade Ron Hainsey to6. mojo1917
@yave1964@ihabs1993Moulson to LA seems to be just what that team needs, a guy that can find the back of the net.Callahan to Columbus with the other Tortarella refugees seems like a better fit than St Louis where they are already strong down the middle. FD19372
So the Sabres trade their entire team away? So what do we get?Miller isn't staying, get over it. Besides him. why the hell would Moulson or Ehrhoff want to stay on your crappy team particularly if they have a chance to go to play for a playoff caliber team , anyway? Your team is about 4 seasons from being relevant. Accumulate draft picks and rebuild. BTW, one thing is for sure besides death and taxes and that is that the Flyers aren't afraid of lucrative contracts. Ehrhoff helps fill a need for the Flyers, a defenseman who can skate, and isn't 40.
FD19372
Here, HockeyJunkie you can have Daley. You're still 4 years from being considered a quality NHL team.

Rebuilds are done much faster than in the old days fella Halak to the Wild Stewart to Ottawa Luongo and Kesler to the Flyers Mason to the AHL Moulson will be gone. Somewhere, maybe Minny with Halak Link to comment

J0e Th0rnton
Ok. Miller will go to either Anaheim or Vancouver. Put that in blood. Personally I had picked Vancouver but based on what I read today it could be either. Erhoff is a very good possibility to go to Pittsburgh now with the news of their desperation at the position. Two guys need surgery. I am hoping Steve Ott comes back here. I cam hoping we sign him. Maybe Miller winds up in Philly. LOL Man would that be a freakin killer hererI am pretty sure Philly is happy with Mason. Maybe we should make a new pinned thread for the Draft and UFA. Pittsburgh's new GM is going to have a hell of a cap mess on their hands. 6 forwards, and 2 defensemen they need to sign with only 16 million in cap space. But the problem is, the 2 that are injured are not big into the system yet. 1 is not in the big leagues, and the other is on an entry level contract. Neither even makes a million. If you want to know a team who would LOVE to have Ehrhoff back, look no further than the Sharks. We need a left side top 4 defenseman very much. Would we trade anything worthwhile for him? Probably not. Why are you trying to lose Ehrror anyways? hi contract is economically sound for you, and he is the kind of player that ages gracefully. That and the recapture risk on his contract gave me headaches trying to figure out at the trade deadline.
J0e Th0rnton
I am for keeping him. But I hear rumours he could be traded. His contract is a nightmare. They gave him a monster of a contract. Are you kidding?A 4 million dollar cap hit on a player of ehrhoff's caliber is actually below league value and a good contract. The problem with the contract is that they front loaded it and made it really long. The risk of cap hit recaptures if he decides to retire early or defect to the KHL, etc. no matter who he is traded to, the recapture risk is all on Buffalo since they gave out the contract and paid him the front loaded years. He could be gone 6 years to another team, and if he decides to retire or defect to the KHL because the make him a healthy scratch for a year and refuse to trade him, Buffalo gets a tremendous penalty of $10 million. It is confusing as heck, but a lot of Buffalo fans are scared crapless that another team will try to do exactly that to blackmail them if they trade Ehrhoff. or that an eastern team would intentionally let them take the cap hit. GM X "Hey Buffalo GM, just wanted you to know that Ehrhoff's play has deteriorated badly this past year at age 36, and after hearing he was going to continue to be a healthy scratch, he demanded a trade, which we will not give him, so he is defecting to the KHL. Nothing personal, and sorry about the $10 million dollar cap hit you are about to take, but we want to save our 4 million in cap space so we kind of forced him into this" Buffalo GM: "No please! What will it take to convince you not to trade him back to us so we can buy out his remaining year?????" GM X: "Well, if you want him traded back to you, I guess we could do that. How about that first round pick?" Buffalo GM: "WTF? But we won the lottery again by finishing last! That's too much" GM X: "Okay then, well, he is probably defecting tomorrow, so was just warning you about the cap hit" Buffalo GM: "OMG!"
