The Quigster
Is this guy going to live up all the hype.
King Knut
He needs to find a slot on the team first. In order to live up to the hype a top 3 C slot needs to open up. This is a problem.
Samifan
Oh, I thought this post was going to go in another direction and say photos of Laughton boozing it up with college chicks and porn stars had surfaced. King Knut
Nicely done. You forgot to add that we'll have taken Richards and Carter back on 7 year $5million deals each by then. peter puck
@brelic And for his day with the cup he'll bring it by city hall then down to the jersey shore!
jammer2
I don't think it's fair to compare these guys like that. Mike is Mike and Scott is Scott. Laughton skates better than Mike ever did, we will have to see if Scott has the same penchant for scoring big goals during desperate times. hf101
Let's see if he wins a Calder Cup with the Phantoms first.
King Knut
Honestly, if he doesn't finish the season with the Phantoms because we need a 4th Center with the big club, I'd be okay with that. But he will still held to the 9 game rule so I expect other to be called up besides him, Flyer need to utilize the slide rule with him. Cheesesteak
Is this guy going to live up all the hype.Yes. I hope he finds a spot on the big club, he looks like a smooth skater and he's over a point-a-game...hope he translates to NHL. Hell, throw him at top-line LW and see what happens. Podein25
I think they are very similar style of player, but agree with @jammer2 that Scott is a way better skater. Slightly bigger and doesn't seem like a douche either.
King Knut
Just for that, I hope he turns out to be an amazing douche. If he can help us get to the conference finals or within a game and a goal of the cup, I'll happily accept doiche-ness. We won a lot more when we had all these poorly skating douches on the team. Btw, Pronger was an amazing douche too, but people were scared of that douche. I think they are very similar style of player, but agree with @jammer2 that Scott is a way better skater. Podein25
@King KnutTouche. A well stated point you make. I think you will come to like Laughton. I hope the play of Maatta doesn't taint people's patience or perception though.I think it's a 50-50 chance of him making the team. If not for the Vinnie situation it might be higher
radoran
Mike Richards is not dead ergo Scott Laughton is not Mike Richards reincarnated. Q.E.D.
murraycraven
If Scott was like Mike and Mike was similar to Scott int he NHL where does that leave Vinny?

King Knut
I hope I love him! It would be cool if he weren't stuck in the AHL for any longer than he has to be. @King KnutTouche. King Knut
I think it's a great idea. Playing here, he's sure to get a concussion and have his career be "essentially over" for the duration of his contract and the league would be rid of him. Sorry that was poor taste. Not wishing him injury so much as lamenting our luck. Um......REPORTED!!!!! Edited July 25, 2014 by King Knut
