Game 54: Devils at Flyers; 2/6/20 @ 7 PM

Greetings:

We are a heavy favorite.  A glimpse at stats suggests we trounce the Devs on faceoffs and GAA.

We should have Ghost back; the Devils will be without Subban or Hischier. This is a "should win" game but given the standings madness, it is "must win" as well.

Somewhere there is a group of west coast teams that are laughing their asses off

5-1 Devils with Flyers scoring late, probably JVR or Raffl

I know this with the same certainty that I know you will push an old lady down an escalator before the day is done.

Based on recent political correctness,  i temper my actions to crop dusting escalators.  I can claim ignorance, get more bang for my buck, and avoid negative publicity

Need to get this win....2 points behind the Jackets for the 3rd spot in the metro with a game in hand. Stack those wins.

I ****** hate the Devils

🤬

What a weak effort by Myers on that first goal getting out hustled/out worked for that puck...that is worth a benching there.

Terrible on that goal.....he should be embarrassed 6-5 215 or 220 and i have seen Ghost lean on someone harder than that.

Wow after that goal basically from end to end through the forwards defense and the swiss cheese in net and it's 2-0.

These guys are so unpredictable. This next stretch of games are going to be brutal.

Can they pull off 2 "should wins" in a row?!?....

I guess we know the answer to this...or i'll check later i don't have time to watch these bums go through the motion.

It would be a good time for a Captain to step and SHOW us how to lead..............by example.

Goodnight all.

nothing is going to change until we get rid of giroux and jake and bring in a talented difference maker, i dont care about the age because tanking for one is impossible and you need alot of luck. i would just keep going after talented older players until a younger one is available and go after him.

Well I got the 5 right.

Im not even close to insightful or smart, so how did I know? Easy. They were playing a team they were supposed to beat. Wash...rinse...repeat

I think this team is a total work of fiction. The reason they are beating better teams, i suspect, is because those teams are playing down to the flyers, like they supposedly do to weaker teams. This makes them appear better than they are, when in reality, they are equal to the bottom teams in the league. Again, fiction, or farce if you prefer

I predict when the smoke clears and the season ends, this team will miss the playoffs, again, and be a middle of the pack group.  They wont get a high enough draft pick to make an impact, and they will be left scrambling to find offense from somewhere because they wont pull the trigger with a trade

Yep, because half of them have the Flyer Club Med for Lifetime card (Voracek and Giroux), and the young players have the ....But We Drafted Them and Are in Denial about what Some of Them Really Are card (Ghost). Again, the people running the team have created their own reality.

Doomed. No sh it.

HTF do you get only 6 shots on 4 power plays!

6!

Root for the Flyers to make the playoffs and get swept in the first round OR root for a high draft pick and get the last non playoff pick...sad but realistic outcomes.

Definitely a playoff team.  Again.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Flyers may actually make the playoffs. And, yes, "anything can happen."

But, no, every team doesn't have "as good a shot as anyone else." This magical thinking is what keeps casinos in business.
