  1. It's going to help Provorov greatly playing with Ellis, looking forward to see his progress.
  2. Veteran influences is only going to help Provie become a better defenseman and not feel like he has to do it all by himself.
  3. I like the Coots signing and the Flyers should take the "C" off of Giroux and give it to Coots. As for resigning Giroux, if the Flyers aren't in the playoffs at the deadline try trading Claude to a contender. And if he wants to resign in Philly then offer him a 3 year deal at $6 million per year.
  4. Having York play in the AHL this year would be the best thing for his development, playing top minutes on D, getting lots of power play time will be beneficial. As for Sanheim, if he is having a great year in the 2nd year of this contract then the Flyers might be able to get assets for him.
  5. Wow, that sucks to lose a brother, RIP Jimmy Hayes. Thoughts and prayers to Kevin Hayes and his family.
  6. Sanheim could end up being the odd man out if York develops the way the Flyers hope. If York does then Sanheim becomes a trading chip for the Flyers to acquire a player they need. It's an overpayment but like other posters have said it's the way Fletcher has done business when it comes to signing or resigning players.
  7. I was hoping for $3 million per year also but Fletcher never does anything right when it comes to handing out contracts. Sanheim may have to sign a one year deal if he doesn't like what the Flyers are offering, the Flyers do have York in the wings.
  8. The Flyers management doesn't know what it means to rebuild where they suffer tough times for more than one year, they just kept "retooling". As for your Leafs, they're going to be in tough this coming year going back to their old division, hopefully Mrazek is the answer in net but they need to shore up the defense.
  9. I think for the long time Flyers fans this coming season is a wait and see approach. With the new additions and the old unwanted players gone, the expectations will be at a minimal. It will be interesting to see which players rebound and get back on track (Hart). As well as the coaching staff, it seems to me the moves that Fletcher made were with discussions with AV to see what players he'd like. If AV can't get this team back to the playoffs and on the right track then I can see him gone. Being a long time fan, I don't get too excited when they're playing well or too down when they play like ****, but it would be nice to see them win a cup before I die. It's going to be a tough road to qualify for the playoffs, if they do make it they'll probably be a wildcard team. Personally I'd like to see the younger players play more but that's not going to happen with AV.
  10. Yes, I loved that game, I also couldn't stand Tucker and the bonus was I made a lot of money on that series betting my friends who were Laffs fans.
  11. Well with the remaining cap space, I hope Fletcher gets Hart's contract done first then Sanheim.
  12. I know Jones hasn't done anything since he did the magical run with the Sharks in 2016. I was hoping that Fletcher would have signed Holtby instead since Hart and Holtby know each other and Holtby is better than Jones (Holtby ended signing with Dallas for the same cost). But maybe Holtby didn't want to come to Philly probably like a lot of other free agents.
  13. According to Elliotte Friedman, the Flyers signed Martin Jones to a one year, $2 million contract. Don't know about this signing.
  14. Well I said this was the summer for Fletcher to put his stamp on the team and his stamp guarantees that the Flyers will be bottom feeders for the next 5 years. What a ***** idiot. The best thing to happen is if the fans stay away from the arena and it forces the ownership to fire Fletcher's ass. It will be interesting to see what other **** ups Fletcher has for the Flyers fanbase.
  15. Well unless Giroux wants to be making which Coots is making right now, little over $4 million per year that's the only way I see the Flyers resigning Giroux since Coots will probably get $8 million per year and end up being the Flyers next captain. If Giroux agrees to the type of contract then I'd gladly see him back as a Flyer otherwise goodbye. Depending on what happens this coming season, I wouldn't mind seeing Giroux traded at the deadline for a young player and picks.
  16. I hope you're right, I like the trade Ellis will help Provorov improve his game. Now we'll see what else Fletcher has up his sleeve.
  17. True enough, what are the options again for the protection list for teams.
  18. Well the plan you laid out makes sense hopefully Fletcher has a similar plan.
  19. I know it's been talked about on here, but Ryan Ellis of Nashville would be interesting since Nashville has 5 defensemen they would like to hold onto but can't so maybe Ellis and his $6.25 cap hit would be something they'd consider moving in order to protect other D.
  20. This off season will go a long way in Fletcher's tender as of Flyers GM, he has to put his stamp on this team going forward, hopefully he does it the right way.
  21. No if the Habs win the cup then every team will go back to playing the ***** trap system and boring hockey will be back. If there is a hockey god, either Vegas comes back and beats the Habs in 7 or the winner of the Bolts/Islanders series takes the Habs out in 4 games.
  22. Well Patrick did play for the Brandon Wheat Kings which was junior team that Hextall played for. There's a lot of decisions that Hextall made that were head scratchers.
  23. Yes, Giroux and Voracek's time in Philly should be up. The NHL isn't the Broad Street Bullies era, Fletcher has to pick players with skill and speed but you still need bottom end grinders on your 3rd and 4th lines who can chip in with goals, play physical and goalie doesn't hurt either. I believe Hart will come around to be the goalie we as Flyers fans hope he can be. The new NHL is a team like the Bolts.
