Who are your 5 favourite Flyers?

I think Chris 54 needs to come over from silly.com to give you a playmate

Nah.  He's too busy chasing around TheGreek.  Probably lobbying for PSU to put back the JoePa statue. He'd last a day here.

How about you guys? Who are your 5 favourite (current) Flyers?

Giroux

Mason

Simmonds

Jake

Coots

(though I'm hoping to put Morin, Ghost or Sanheim on the list soon)

That gets me thinking... what about your top 5 all-time Flyers?

Tough one.

The realistic list looks like this:

Bernie

Howe

Clarke

LeClair

Lindros

But if we're really talking about "favorites" My list looks like this:

Hextall

Howe

Boosh

Brindy,

Primeau

and depending on my mood, you could probably swap any out for:

Rex,

Rico,

Tocchet,

Gagne,

Barber

Timmo

Marsh

MacLeish

McCrimmon

Pelle

and probably a few more I'm not thinking of yet.

In a few years I expect some from the current list to be on the all time list... hopefully.

Rick Macleish - for the GWG vs Boston = first Stanley Cup. And how he looked skating, hair flying like a wildman. I always pretended I was him or Clarke (except I'm a righty)

Bernie - 'nuff said (and fk Brodeur and Luongo, Bernie Parent has the Most Wins In One Season - fewer games when Bernie played, also Bernie has a much lower career GAA)

BC - If you don't know his story, what he overcame just to play hockey, let alone what he achieved it's worth digging up: inspiring.

Dave Schultz - his nickname says it all - a guy the Bullies relied on for everything - including hockey. He won the 1R PO series in '74 or '75 I forget, GWG against the Flames.

Mike Richards - - rethinking this one... still a fav all-time but there's too many others I like better I guess.

Reggie Leach IIRC after getting Leach the Flyers really took off...the rest is history.

Current:
Claude "Watch This Shift" Giroux

Jake "the Snake" Voracek

Wayne "Does It All" Simmonds

Sean "Shutdown-But-Stay-Tuned" Couturier

Steve "Stay Healthy" Mason

My 6 year old daughter uses Siri to get the Flyers scores from the night before.

"Hey Siri, did the Flyers win last night?"

"Yes, the Flyers defeated the Blues, 5 to 3."

"Ooh, papa will be happy."

So then when I come around, she'll ask "Did Giroux score? What about Voracek? How was Mason?" There's something so nice about their innocence.

She often asks me who my favourite Flyers are. Roughly in order, they are:

Giroux

Voracek

Mason

Del Zotto

Simmonds

I agree with your current 5,

As for my all-time favourites, they're as follows:

Bernie Parent

Pelle Lindbergh

Rick Tocchet

Mark Howe

Bobby Clarke
