  1. Past hour
  2. I already saw the exchange after this with radoran, but there better be a truckload coming back with Zegras (McTavish?) if we're trading Konecny. Even with Risto going out, I'm not trading Konecny for the circus monkey and little else. McTavish, Clownshow, a decent pick for Konecny, Risto, and lesser pick. That's where the Flyers should start. I'll take Carlsson instead of McTavish and we can throw in Laughton. Not a Zegras fan. At all. Pretty little Michigan pony show thing not withstanding.

  4. Most people can't afford to sign their kid up for hockey anymore, let alone attend a hockey game. If you have a son talented enough to play AAA hockey in Toronto, you're looking at $25,000. That's just to register. You haven't paid for equipment, camps, travel, etc, etc, etc. The average cost per year, all-in, is about $45,000 for a kid to play in that league. That was the ironic part about that twitter idiot who said that Zach Hyman only scored 50 goals because his father is rich. Yes, Hyman's father is wealthy, but pretty much everybody in the NHL grew up privileged. Where the NHL was once a league of sons of farmers and tradesmen, it's now a league of young men who's fathers are real estate tycoons or investment bankers. Hockey is well on its way to becoming a sport like tennis or motor sports.
  5. Now is as good a time as any to remind folks that this is the 10-year anniversary of Sharks-Kings first round playoff series with San Jose leading Los Angeles 3-0 after game three. People might recall who ended up with the 2014 Stanley Cup.
  6. Always a step behind. And always a step behind a legit SC contender puts you on the brink of elimination....
  7. I’d say that the majority of comments I read from his Xitter post were of that ilk. Too many corporate suits, especially “in the lower bowl” - saw that many times, that real fans would love those way-too-unaffordable seats. But some commenters disagreed about last night’s crowd gusto. But a minority. Still…sad!
  8. The real fans are standing around outside the arena, too poor to be able to afford to get in.
  9. I figured Joe Bowen’s radio commentary would spur some morning-after controversy: https://globalnews.ca/news/10449154/joe-bowen-leafs-twitter-fans-criticism/
  10. There we go...now THAT one will count...not a PP goal, but Stamkos with the brilliant tip in after the feed from Hedman squares things for the Lightning. 1-1 start of the 2nd Edit: Looks like that was a PP goal...tail end of it. Either way, Bolts needed that badly! Now....they need to shore up their overall play, especially 5 on 5
  11. That works have been nipped in the bud through proper development. The entitlement and blame game only came during his tenure in Philadelphia. Sad really. Those four coaches did him no favours at all.
  12. Or at least one of those flaming ships they send out to sea for the Scandinavians on the team
  13. @mojo1917 Looks like the Isles haven't fixed their hinges yet for Game 3. Already down 2-0 midway through the first....
  14. Yesterday
  15. Well, FWIW, the refs DID get the call right....much as I don't like it. Bolts pushed back afterwards once again, but ran out of time. I believe they will still have a slice of that PP left to start the 2nd? Will have to look.
  16. Two big shots as the period comes to a close....Bob makes a huge save on one....and then Brayden Point BEATS Bob, but can't beat the post. Wow. The hockey gods must have cloud dollars on Florida....
  17. This reminds me of Euro-Football goals disallowed per Video Assistant Referee (VAR). Far more goals disallowed for offsides there than in hockey.
  18. Third time's the charm for the TB PP. Finally got one. Clean technique leads to the goal. Oh, but wait...Florida is challenging for offsides....
  19. Tampa might as well forfeit and go home to rest and play golf. They aren't gonna win any games. I'm rooting for them, though. And I hope I'm wrong.....but I'm not. I hate the Panthers! So mainly in this series I'm rooting AGAINST the Panthers rather than FOR Tampa.
  20. Panthers take the lead...the result of...yep...ANOTHER rushed, piss poor clearing attempt from the zone by the Lightning.
  21. Lightning are getting the PP chances...at least Florida is getting called for the BS hooking and interference calls this game. But that means nothing unless the supposed #1 powerplay in the league makes use of the man advantage. Panthers giving the Bolts absolutely NO SPACE out there...always getting in the grill of Bolts players with the puck. I am pretty sure there is a way for the TB talented forwards to bait them in and take advantage of this, but as of right now, they don't have the answer.
