radoran
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/nhl-wants--8-million-for-world-cup-of-hockey-jersey-ads-214818357.html Spokesmen for the NHL and NHLPA declined to comment. It is believed the jersey deal would be for something more significant than just a designated ad patch, such as the ones used on NHL team practice jerseys and by American Hockey League clubs. The goal is to develop a seamless way to mesh advertising with World Cup team logos. Personally, I can't stand the idea. Might be amusing the watch the Verizon FiOS Flyers on Comcast SportsNet, though...

pilldoc
seriously can you image taking this ..... and covering it with ads to make it look like this....no thanks! the only extra patches that should be on a NHL jersey would be a captain C or alternate A or a winter game patch or an All-Start patch or a stanley Cup playoff patch or some other commerative patch celebrating a team anniversary or honoring a former player. that is it..... I hate the idea of adding corpate logos to jersey. the hockey sweater is a beautiful expression of the team...why destroy it with corporate logos. fishbulb
I could block out a small logo on the pants... or a patch somewhere, but it's a slippery slope towards that euro-looking/Nascar nonsense.

J0e Th0rnton
Ugh. First the UFC mandates that fighters must wear uniforms of their sponsors to the ring. Now I have to see ads on uniforms in the NHL? Well, at least it does not hurt the players. In the UFC, it pretty much screws over the fighters, who rely on endorsements and advertizing deals to make the larger part of their earnings since they get paid pennies. But now the UFC is banning ads except their own, which puts the revenue directly in their pockets instead of the fighters. I miss pride.I do love some of the fighter reactions tho "No offesne, but Anyone who pays $95 for a shirt with my name on it is an idiot"http://www.mmamania.com/2015/6/30/8870677/ufc-mma-fighters-react-to-new-reebok-fight-kit-uniforms-sponsors-mma

Might be amusing the watch the Verizon FiOS Flyers on Comcast SportsNet, though... I was really hoping I was opening a link to The Onion. I can't tell you how much I hate this. I'm still getting used to ads on the ice and boards. It's simply disgusting. The "advertise the hell out of everything" was one of the reasons I hated Jurassic World (that, and the movie flat out sucked). I should move to Greece where they ain't selling anything.
