Yes a few teams pulled off some shady stuff in the past but that was in the pre-lottery days. Now the best you can hope for is (IIRC) a 25% chance of landing the top pick. The only real saving grace for the Flyers….never mind there is none. EDIT: at least not until they clean house. Unfortunately I don’t believe there is a “they” in the Flyers’ front office. That well is drying up as well. So many tickets go unused, at least in my place of work.
