DaGreatGazoo
@frank_seravalli: Jake Voracek: 8-years, $66 million. AAV is $8.25 million. #TSN

Mad Dog
A leap of faith based on one very good season? Does anybody know if NTC/NMC is built in?
flyercanuck
@Mad DogWhen I saw EIGHT years and SIXTY SIX MILLION....I figured the NMC was a guarantee. Then again, Voracek may have seen the term and numbers and said "I don't even care where I'm making that kind of money"!
King Knut
According to Meltzer...http://flyers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=7760438.25 feels like a lot man. He'd better keep it up. Now who's going to be their Renberg?
King Knut
That's a bit much after one great season.Agreed. History makes it look like he finally out it all together, but still... Big deal franchise player deal.
brelic
That's a lot of dough. But I believe we can win with G and Voracek. Bring us the Cup, boys! I like how Hextall just gets stuff done. Nothing seems to drag on, does it?
canoli
JHC really, 8 years? I thought we were done with the ~decade-long contracts. Meanwhile Giroux has led the team for multiple seasons and now after one good year his winger is making the same money (25K less). Then again an angry Giroux is a good thing for the Flyers..."watch this shift"...maybe Hextall figured... lol...
AndyS
Glad that his extension is done. Good for Jake, and good for the Flyers.

OccamsRazor
That's a bit much after one great season.Yes it is. It wouldn't have paid over 7mill per....oh well...too late now.
sekkes85
Million more than I hoped for but I get it based off some recent signings for players who have put up much less numbers. Just have to hope he continues to grow and put up numbers.
Phlyer1
Hextall has made mostly good moves so far. Let's give him some time on this one.

Phillygrump
Wow. I'm fine with it. I'm surprised so many people are so uncertain of Hextall recognizing the core of this franchise and getting them locked up especially after the season Jake just had and the Tarasenko contract. None of this is surprising. Jake was going to get this contract somewhere. I'm happy.
murraycraven
Yeesh.... that is a lot of cash.Let's hope he continues with greatness and does not continue to eat mommas home cooking. Love Jake but this, as of right now, seems to be an overpayment IMO.

off_the_post
I am certainly not jumping for joy with the terms though I suppose Jake is. Hexy is setting himself up next summer so that he can actually take the summer off and go on vacation. Will there be any other contracts for him to sign?Back to Jake though; I have always been a fan but this feels like the deal is for too many years or too much or both. Let's hope he keeps putting up the points whether it is on the PP or not.
flyerrod
Not real happy about the length of the contract but Jake has the potential to make me forget about it being about 3 years too long......Jake was one of the true leaders on the ice last year game in and game out. I hope he can continue to bring that energy with his game in the future.
